Our amazing wine advent calendar has a new home! Ambassador Pat has taken on the challenge of drinking (at least) a bottle a day for the month of December and he will be sharing his adventure on the blog. We can’t guarantee daily updates during what is our busiest time of the year, but he will have something to say about every wine and we aim to get it out to you as soon as we can.
Lago Vinho Verde
A lovely start to the calendar. An excellent example of the wines typical of the region that you’ll have had on your holidays (assuming they were in Portugal). Grapes are picked young, bottled quickly, and intended to be drunk soon after. Low in alcohol at a mere 10%. Very refreshing, pleasantly prickly, and easy to drink.
Drink it with?
On its own in terms of food. In terms of people, if you have a relative who isn’t a big drinker and is usually fast asleep before you flame the Xmas pudding then this is ideal. They’ll be able to have a few glasses of this prior to dinner and still be relatively compos mentis!
Value?
It’s under seven quid and extremely drinkable. You can’t really go wrong.
Love it! It’s a tough job but you’re clearly the right man for it! Looking forward to seeing your expression by day 23!!
This was my choice for advent day one! Ease yourself in for the next 23 days. Great wine though. New discovery for me will be ordering more.
