The wines produced by the Quinta de Lemos use the classic, indigenous grape varieties of the Dão region. These varieties include Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz. The winery produces a varietal wine for each of the grapes; these are wines that showcase the wonderful qualities of the various grapes.
The Touriga Nacional captures the rich, fruitiness of the magnificent Portuguese grape. The Jaen is a fabulous full-bodied wine that is velvety on the palate. The Alfrocheiro is a beautifully structured wine and it captures the delicate spiciness from the grape. The Tinta Roriz (also known as Tempranillo in Spain and Aragonês throughout most of Southern Portugal) is an elegant, warming pleasure on the mouth and it captures the wonderful qualities inherent in the grape.
This selection of 4 varietal wines is the perfect way to get to know the grapes of the Dão region and how they can perform in the hands of a great producer.
