New wine from Portugal is on the way! We recently went along to the Residence of the Portuguese Ambassador in London, to try the latest vintages from the major producers in the Douro region. There is a genuine belief, which has been building for years, that the Douro will become regarded as one of the greatest wine producing regions in the world, with terroir to rival even France. It looks like the Douro Boys might be on to something!
Our friends from the Quinta do Crasto were proudly showing their full range which includes some of the best wine from Portugal. The new Superior White is beautifully balanced and a delight to drink. We have added it to our portfolio along with their outstanding LBV and their award winning Touriga Nacional. This traditional Portuguese grape variety is the backbone of many Port and red wines throughout Portugal, but here it takes centre stage. It has already scored 95 points with Wine Spectator and displays excellent ageing potential.
